Welcome to Lima, the Capital of the New World! Upon arrival, meet your local host and transfer to your hotel in the chic district of Miraflores. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Reception with your Travel Director and fellow travelers.
Kick off the day with a city tour, sightseeing the highlights of Lima’s historic heart. Visit Casona San Marcos for a snack and cultural insights, then learn to play the cajón percussion instrument and try out the energetic musica negra dance. Continue to Lima’s Main Square, or join a guided walking tour of Miraflores and Larcomar, ending at Kennedy Park.
Fly to Cusco, gateway to the Sacred Valley. After a scenic Peruvian lunch with breathtaking views, participate in a traditional Shamanic ceremony to be warmly welcomed into the Andean culture.
Connect with locals over a Be My Guest lunch and learn about the cultivation of Giant White Corn. Enjoy live Marinera dance performances and traditional music. In the evening, meet famed explorer Peter Frost and later learn to prepare authentic ceviche and Pisco sours.
Visit the impressive Ollantaytambo ruins before boarding the Vistadome train for an unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu. Explore the Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza, and Intihuatana with your Local Specialist.
Enjoy a final morning to explore Machu Picchu at your own pace. Return via train to the Sacred Valley, stopping at Pisac Market and sampling chicha, a traditional Andean drink.
Tour the mighty Sacsayhuaman fortress and Cusco’s colonial center. Visit Mantay, a social project supporting young mothers through crafts and trades. In the afternoon, enjoy free time or join optional excursions like a Chocolate Museum visit or a trip to Maras and Moray.
Fly to Juliaca and explore the Sillustani burial site with its towering chullpas. Later, enjoy a heartfelt Dive Into Culture experience with a local family by Lake Titicaca, sharing a home-cooked meal.
Set sail on the sapphire waters of Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world, and Connect With Locals as you visit the fascinating floating islands of the Uros people, ingeniously crafted from totora reeds. Continue to Taquile Island, with a private tour showcasing the villagers’ legendary knitting and weaving traditions, recognized by UNESCO as a “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.” Enjoy a delicious lunch while learning about their unique way of life, before returning to Puno. Fly back to Lima for an afternoon at leisure. In the evening, enjoy a private visit to the Larco Museum followed by a Farewell Dinner in its romantic gardens.
