In the afternoon, journey to Medeo, home to the world’s highest ice-skating rink, then ride the gondola to Shymbulak Ski Resort for stunning mountain views. Enjoy lunch at a mountaintop café before returning to Almaty for dinner at a local restaurant.
Enjoy a relaxed morning with breakfast at your hotel. Spend the day exploring Almaty at your own pace — from shopping at local markets and boutiques to joining an optional excursion or simply unwinding in one of the city’s cozy cafés.
After an early breakfast, travel through Kazakhstan’s wild landscapes to the dramatic Charyn Canyon, often called the “Grand Canyon of Central Asia.” Stroll through the Valley of Castles before continuing to the serene Kolsai Lake, surrounded by alpine peaks. Later, head to the charming Saty Village and experience traditional Kazakh hospitality with a homemade dinner and stargazing in the peaceful mountain air.
After breakfast, take a short 4WD ride to Kaindy Lake, famous for its submerged forest and turquoise waters. Enjoy a scenic hike or optional horseback ride before returning to Saty for lunch. In the afternoon, drive back to Almaty and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening relaxing or enjoying some last-minute shopping in the city.

The overnight in Saty Village gave us a chance to disconnect completely. The quiet mountain air and cozy guesthouse were a perfect contrast to the lively city of Almaty.
Walking through the Green Bazaar and Republic Square felt so authentic. We got to meet locals, taste street foods, and experience daily life in Almaty—it was an eye opening cultural experience.
