Visit Ananuri Fortress overlooking the shimmering Jinvali Reservoir, then continue to Gudauri, a famous ski and mountain resort where you’ll see the awe-inspiring Friendship Monument. Travel onward to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), where a 4x4 ride (weather permitting) will take you to the hilltop Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170 meters above sea level. The trip to Gergeti Trinity Church was breathtaking. Seeing Mount Kazbek covered in snow from the hilltop was surreal—definitely a highlight of our winter holiday in Georgia.
